WILLIAM SHATNER HELPS 100 GOOD GUYS REACH FOR THE STARS
100 Good Guys of the Bluegrass has set an ambitious
goal to raise at least $100,000 to benefit the Bluegrass Domestic
Violence Program, an emergency shelter that serves a 17-county
region in the Bluegrass.
Have you seen
100 Good Guys' public service announcement on television
recently featuring legendary film and TV actor William Shatner? He said:
"Domestic violence is
offensive, it's wrong, and it's a crime. Please join me, William
Shatner, and many other Central Kentucky men in making the
region a safer, healthier place for women and children. To help
our regional domestic violence shelter, support as I do, a fund
created by men called 100 Good Guys. Concerned men from all 17
Central Kentucky counties are needed to help.
Your contribution might just save a life...right here in the
Bluegrass. "
So, be in
good company
while doing good for
your community -- be a
Good Guy!
(A VERY special thanks to Mr. Shatner and Frank Jenkins for
generously making this televised ad possible!)

The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency and contributions are tax-deductible.

Lee T. Todd, Jr.,
President of the University of Kentucky
"Violence against women is a Kentucky Ugly, a problem that continues to hold this state back from fulfilling its potential," says UK President Lee T. Todd, Jr. "We must work together to eradicate domestic violence from our society, so our friends and neighbors, children and grandchildren can live free from fear."
During 2006 and 2007, a new and independent
regional men's philanthropy, "100 Good Guys", has set an
ambitious goal to raise at least $100,000 to benefit the
Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program, an emergency shelter that
serves a 17-county region in the Bluegrass.
This effort comes two years after a related group, "100 Women",
raised over $140,000 to help establish the Bluegrass Domestic
Violence Program (BDVP), located in rural Fayette County.
With a rallying theme of "Real men respect women", and a growing
roster of locally prominent founding members, the 100 Good Guys
group is ramping up efforts to raise funds and awareness
throughout the Bluegrass region for the cause of domestic
violence.
The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program serves the following
counties: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette,
Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison,
Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford.
Concerned men from communities in each of these Bluegrass
heartland counties are needed to help!
Please consider adding your example of leadership, and care
for women and children, today!
